What to expect during a home veterinary visit
Once the introductions are made, we can move to a place where you and I can talk in order for me to get a detailed history, and greater understanding of your concerns and goals as they apply to your pet. During this talk, having treats or toys available for me to be handing to your pet can continue to foster a positive relationship.
With a positive groundwork to build on, I can proceed to an examination of your pet. This would usually take place on the hallway or kitchen floor, but for some pets, handling is better done on a raised horizontal surface such as a countertop or table.
With the examination complete, we can then sit down to discuss my findings and recommendations, as well as your options on steps to take from there. This may include anything from nutritional and preventative health measures (such as vaccinations) to interventions we need to take to address cases of illness or behavioural problems. At this time, you are encouraged to have me explain all of these findings and recommendations to your satisfaction. |
